David,
Does any of your French genealogical work involve the Channel Islands? My ancestor is Adrian Gardey/Gordy who was brought over from Virginia as an indentured servant and married Mary Disharoon. In that transported group was the surname Toadvine (and its many spelling variations!) which I understand is traced back to the Channel Islands. Since we Gordys can't seem to trace Adrian back any farther than the indenture we are always interested in new leads.
