We have been told that alot of the census takers dropped letters from names and sometimes spelled names the way they sounded. Have most commonly run into Dismukes becoming Dismuke. But more than likely the same happened to Dismuke to Desmuke. We are looking for any info on William Dismuke married to Charlotte Nohome. If you run across any info please forward it. Good luck in your research. We have hit a BIG BRICK WALL.
