I have a record of a Garland Terry Dismukes Jr. b.October 14, 1841 son of Garland Terry Dismukes Sr. b.August 20, 1813 and grandson of James Dismukes and Gillian Cooper.

Garland Terry Dismukes Sr. died March 1842 in Jones Co. Ga when his son was still an infant. I know notheing of his wife, Frances Amanda Stevens other than her name.

Garland Terry Dismukes Jr. enlisted in the Civil War 6-15-61 as a Pvt. from Putnam Co. GA.
He was mustered into Co. G of GA 12th Infantry.
Listed as wounded 5-8-62 McDowell, VA.
He was promoted to 3rd Corpl. 8-7-62.
Became a POW 5-5-64 at Wilderness, VA.
He took the Oath of Allegiance and was released on 6-26-65 from Point Lookout, MD.

He married Laura C.Lawrence after the war and had two children: Sidney and James Garland Dismukes.

Anything you can add to the Garland Terry story would be most appreciated.
