Penny to give you a brief rundown---our earliest family is found in what is now Normandy near the little village of Isney. Isney is located near the Estuary between Utah and Omaha beaches.

Hughes Suhart/Suhard, of Viking ancestry, befriended William, Duke of Normany who rewarded him with land of Isney. Accordng to the custom of the time Hughes was then able to be known as Hughes de Isney.

In 1066 after the Battle of Hastings the de Isney's settled in Lincolnshire at Norton. About the 1300s the name became Disney.

From Lincolnshire they have spread out all over the world. My particular line came from County Carlow & County Kilkenny, Ireland to Ontario Canada, then immigrated to Kansas.
