DISNEY FAMILIES FROM CANADA TO ELLIS, KANSAS

Please read mesasage # 270, this forum, as an introduction to this message.

I have a book of obituaries that appeared in the "Ellis Review" dating back to 1890 deaths.

They are of two types. Disneys who died in Ellis and Disneys who died elsewhere but whose obit was printed in the Ellis Review. They can usually be distinguished as the local ones appeared within a week of the death. Others appeared weeks after the death indicating they were not local.

I have about thirty-five obits for Disneys and the following are only a few of the older examples.

"Grandma" Disney (no given name) died 2 Oct 1896, age 81.

Mary (Richardson)Disney, born 20 Mar 1838, died 10 Mar 1909. Obit appeared 12 Mar 1909.

Kepple Disney died 29 May 1894 (Mary's husband ?).

Kepple born 28 Jan 1872 in Canada, son of Kepple and Mary, died 13 Drec 1939 in Ellis., Wife was Mary Ann (Mullen) born 24 Mar 1872 in Ireland, died 11 Mar 1956. It was this couple that was our families' neighbors 1936-1939 in Ellis but I knew "Kep" since ca 1930.

Upon request by e-mail, I will forward the other thirty some obits. (not the actual obit but the record iof birth and death). Actual obits could probably be obtained from the Ellis Review.
