Hi Paul Thanks for your message. My husband was born in 1942 in Salcombe Devon. As I may have said, Distin is a West Country name, I gather. As far as Phil knows, there was no one in his family who had a child who was placed for adoption although his one Distin uncle (British) was not as well-behaved as his parents might have wished! I haven't run into any Canadian or American Distins. Have you heard from Chris Distin who has written to us and seems to be distantly related to Phil although we aren't sure how--probably through great or great great uncles.
