Sharon, I need help. It seems like everyone knows the Ditmars genealogy from the 1700's and it seems to all go back to New Jersey. I can only trace my Ditmars family back to NJ in 1812, but I can't seem to connect it to anyone's tree from the 1700s. Here is what I have: John Ditmars was born about 1826 in NJ and married Mary A. (Unknown) from Virginia. He moved to Ohio sometime before 1849. In Ohio, he and Mary had a daughter named Eliza Ellen Ditmars about 1849. John died 6/3/1954 and Mary died 4/25/1851 at the age of 22. Both are buried at New Burlington Cemetery in Springfield Twp., Hamilton Co., Ohio. Abraham or (Abram) Ditmars was born 12/18/1812 in NJ and married Eliza (Unknown) from Virginia also. He moved to Ohio (probably with John) sometime before 1844. In Ohio, he and Eliza had daughter Amy A. Ditmars about 1844, son Elihn (Elihu?) Burrit Ditmars about 1847, and daughter Mary Ellen Ditmars about 1850. Abraham died 6/10/1851 and is buried in New Burlington Cemetery. Ella Ditmars was born in 1849 and married William Brown. She died in 1919 and is also buried in New Burlington, but I can't tell if this is Eliza Ellen or Mary Ellen, or someone completely different. There is also an Elizabeth Ditmars who was born in 1855. She married Harry Zane. Together they had a son Albert about 1889. She died in 1926 and is also buried in New Burlington Cemetery. I have absolutely no idea who her parents could be. Please help me fill in these gaps, email me at k_biz@yahoo.com. Thank you. Notify Administrator about this message?
