[This Douwe [4] is a Douwe Jr. who marries Marrytie Dorlandt and have a son Douwe, 2nd who moves to Clementsport, Nova Scotia. The discrepancy remains unresolved. Possibly E. V. Ditmars' Douwe was a son of elder Jan Jansen, or more likely the son of Rem, one of the two sons of Dow.]
