The genealogy provided repeats errors started with the Kings County genealogy. While I am not yet ready to post the genealogy that I believe is correct, I will post extracts from published materials that everyone seems to overlook. I am descended from the loyalist Douwe Ditmars, who during the 7 Years War participated in the British capture of Fort Ticonderoga and Havana, Cuba, then fled to Nova Scotia with his family because 2 of his sons and a son-in-law were under sentence of death for trying to capture George Washington 1776 and turn him over to the British.
