Hi, My gggrandfather, John Curd Dittmer, came from northern Germany...Hannover some think... and settled in Adams County, Illinois (near Quincy on the Mississippi). He was born in 1841.
He married Anna Christine Ackerman(n);
he died in 1881 and is buried in Coatsburg, IL. Any connections??? Hope so!
