The HISTORY OF THE DITTO FAMILIES, 1700-1996 by Robert Shean Riley has an Abraham Ditto, b. 14 Sep 1718 (baptismal record, St. John's Parish, p.10), d. Apr 1794, m. Mary (ca 1721-after 1794) ca 1738. The book contains quite a narrative about Abraham and his Maryland home called "Ditto's Delight". His father was James Ditto, ca 1690-ca 1732, mother Christiana, ca 1693-after 1743. Grandfather was Abraham Ditto, ca 1661. The first Abraham may have been a French Huguenot who escaped France in the 1600s during a period of religious persecution via way of Scotland.
