There is an affidavit on file in the Jackson County, Indiana records by George Dixon for the estate of Ruth Drinkwater, wife of John Drinkwater, and daughter of Jesse Dixon, butI havenot located it,

Who the father of George W Dixon is, is still of speculation, though I believe that I have shown that he is descended of Jesse Dixon. The 1830 Jackson County census for Jesse Dixon shows 13 people living in his household and it is probable that George Dixon was living there.
As to who the parents of George Dixon are I think canbe can be narrowed down a bit.As for Charlotte Dixon, who is listed as a heir to Jesse Dixon in Ross County Ohio Chancery records and is given credit for being the mother to Lorinda Dixon at Ancestry.com can look as the most likely, but no Jackson County, Indiana coarthouse records for her have been located. She may be a daughter by marriage or a actual daughter and may have had children or taken care of other children. Many have suggested that Lorinda Dixon and George Dixon are brother and sister, after all they married Findley brother and sister. This would be my first choice.
Another possibility might be Jesse Dixons son Lawrence Dixon, who records are scarce, besides divorce and burial records.
One more possibility is that George Dixon is the son of Jesse Dixon and his second wife Elizabeth, but George Dixon is not mentioned as an heir to Jesse Dixon.Elizabeth Dixon who later married Hiram Milspaugh moved to Hamilton, County, Ohio. This possibility has been suggested by other Dixon descendants.
What do you think, let me know. Thanks, Rick
