Hi Bernice,
Thought I could shed some light on some of these Dixons.
1930 Davidson Cty Tn; Dist 10; dist 230-- This would be Napoleon L. Dixon who moved to Davidson Co, TN (Donelson, TN) around this time. He later ran the ferry there at Opryland before they built the bridge over the Cumberland River to connect Briley Parkway to the Madison side of the river.
1880 Jackson Cty Tn
1 1 Dixon, George W?, 35 Tn/NC/Tn
elizabeth 25, wife, Tn/Tn/Tn
Bernettee, 11, dau Tn
Napol?on, y, son Tn
Alice 5, dau Tn
Robert W?, 2, son, Tn
Amanda B, 1/12, dau Tn
{George W and Elizabeth are still living in Jackson Cty Tn in 1900 with children Robert, Alexander, Daisy B, Astor, Elizabeth, Ora(Ova?) L, and Milton Dixon, brother to George. Milton is listed as 29 and George as 57.
This would be George Washington Dixon, father of Napoleon Lycurkus Dixon. Bernettee and Milton are George's children from first marriage to whom I havent found out yet. I can expand on this side of the family if anyone is interested.
But living next to George W on the 1910 Jackson Cty cenus is ad N L Dixon:
39 40 Dixon, N L, 36 married 14 yrs
Annie, wife 31 5 births 5 living
first marriage for both
Isaac, ?, son 12
Emmmer L?, dau 9
Carl L?, son 7
Velam dau 5
Le???, dau 2
In 1920 he is listed as Napoleon L with Annie B wife, childre: Lester, Velma, Lena, Ruby, Nani?, Hugh and Dillard (twins). George is widowed and living next door with Malissa Richardson, sister to George. In 1930 Napoleon L and Annie are still in Jackson and a grand dau Reba is in household.
This is the the same family of George Washington Dixon from above. This was probably before Napoleon L. Dixon moved to Davidson Co., he moved there around this time. If you need correct spellings of the names of the children I have those. Dillard Dixon was my grandfather, likewise I am a twin as well, but have a twin sister.
