My name is Dennis Hugh Dixon and I am one of Logustine Dixon's great-great grandsons living in Texarkana TX.During research as a boy to find our relatives, my father, brother and I found info on David R. Dixon (father of Hugh C. Dixon of Hector, AR- my grandfather) at the Pope county courthouse (son of Logustine) We also learned that David R. Dixon was murdered in or near Atkins AR because he had been a member of the 2nd Arkansas cavalry, which was a Union unit(from a southern state)Found newspaper accounts on record of his murder). He was buried with a Union cavalry marker which we were able to find around 1970...in a hay meadow at the base of a hill...believed to be his homestead at that time.(polaroid taken). I have information and have been given info on many in that branch of the family and have information on where Logustine is buried as he is believed to have lived with one of his sons during is later years. One of my grandfather's brother is supposed to have been living in the Tulsa area.I will be glad to correspond with anyone who desires to correspond/post info and maybe we can all push forward to confirm Logustine's parents and possibly find out who/where/ how the family came to be in North Carolina.
