John Dixon/Caturah Dixon (maiden-Clute)

I'm trying to find the names of the parents of Caturah Clute Dixon.

She was born Caturah Clute and married John Dixon.

I received a suggestion from Ms. Chansky at the Grems-Doolittle Library that indicated someone here might be able to help find some genealogy information for me and solve a long standing family mystery. My Great Great Grandmother, is Caturah Clute. We know all about her adult years from when after she was married, but we've been unable to determine who her parents were. The only clues we have to go on is from her death certificate issued in Brooklyn, NY in July, 1875, which indicated her parents were "born in Albany, NY"; based on her age at her time of death, 51 years 7 months, her approximate date of birth; December 1823 - January 1824 and her husband's name is John Dixon. I believe they were married between 1841-1843 based on the birth of their eldest child Sarah Dixon, born in 1843, followed by Mary 1845, John 1849, David 1851, George 1854, Harriet 1855, James 1856, Valentine 1860, Eliza 1861, Garrett 1864. We also heard over the years that she was part Native American.
If you can turn up any information on who her parents were I would appreciate it.
If you can not turn up any information on her would you please forward this to anyone you think might be able to figure it out?

Thank you,

Rich Grome
