Dixons: Northumberland England to Ontario, CA to Michigan, USA

Hello there! Looking primarily for Dixon family in Michigan. I have a Robert Dixon born in 1837 in Ontario, Canada married Isabella McCohall (McCall) who came to Northern Michigan sometime circa 1860's. I am descended from their son, John Robert Dixon and Ida Mae (Cook). All are buried in Grant Twp. Cemetery. There was an Adam Dixon born 1825 in Northumberland, England who married a Matilda Howes in Ontario, living in the same exact area as Robert during the same time frame. I believe they were brothers, or Robert could have quite possibly been a nephew. There is no question in my mind that they are somehow related. Adam's parents are John Dixon and Elizabeth Hutcheson. Would like to find somebody who has some sort of information on this family and help me make the connection between Adam and Robert. Any help would be much appreciated.
