Thank you for your reply. I appreciate your effort and knowledge about the Doan family. The 1790 census records for New Jersey were lost in a fire, plenty of Doans listed in the other communities. It appears that that Titus sold his New Jersey farm and moved to Canada before the census was taken. Perhaps some Canadian record will verify Thomas Doan's age when he applied for his Crown Grant. It appears that the census enumerator may have been given the wrong age for Thomas in 1850, as he would have been born in 1763/4 f he was 87 as stated, instead of being born in 1773 as some believe.
