Edward Doan was born about 1836. He was residing in 1861 in McKean County, working as a lumberman. From Tioga County, he mustered in May 29, 1861, in Harrisburg with Company G as a private. He was listed as missing or on August, 1861 at Harrisburg.

Another option Edward Doan was born December 25, 1840, in New York. He married Ella M Marvin in 1908. In 1910 he was living in Mansfield, Tioga County, Pa with wife Ella and a step daughter Edna Marvin. He died 1919 and is buried in Prospect Cemetery, Mansfield, Tioga Co., PA
