My name is Pete Waller and I am a 2nd Great Grandson of Mary Ann Doan, who married David Dunham, and I believe that they lived in the Haldimand County area. Together, David & Mary had 7 children that I am aware of: Mabel May (b: Aug 18/1883 Stoney Creek, Ont, d: May 17/1962 Dunnville, Ont) Maude Minerva (b: 1879) Maggie Mary Martha Carrie Can't explain "why" they got away from naming their 7th daughter (Carrie) with a name beginning with "M"? I am led to believe that after Mary Ann Doan died, her husband David Dunham married her sister, Elizabeth Doan, and together they had another 5 children. I am not aware at this point of the children's names from this marriage. I would sincerely like to hear from reseachers that are related to this line of the DOAN family and could provide me with anymore direction on this branch of my family tree? Can you tell me what part of Europe that they came from? Were they part of the UEL that were forced to leave the USA during the American Revolution, immigrating to Canada? I'd be more than happy to share anything I have gathered to this point with you. I look forward to hearing from you.
