Book: Tavern at the Ferry

Greetings Doan family,

I just bought an interesting little book called The Tavern at the Ferry by Edwin Tunis, published 1973. It is certainly prose, not hard history, but it describes in vivid detail the famous crossing of the Delaware by G. Washington. It also makes much mention of the Doan boys - especially Moses Doan (whom he regularly refers to as Mose Doan.)

The book was doubly interesting to me because one of the other families mentioned was the Coryell family living in that region during the war years (American Revolution),

The book would be excellent reading for 6th graders and up. Children descended from any of the Doan boys might find this particular history more interesting than normal - especially if their own ancestor is featured in it.
