Mathilda Dobler immigrated from Germany in 1881. I have ship registry showing her ship and arrival date. Her name may have been spelled Doebler as that oe is a separate letter in German??? And dropping the letter maybe Americanized it. She may have been from Wurtenburg. That is written in my baby book. Shortly after arriving in NY she married Ludwig Kaemmerer. Whether they knew each other in Germany or met here is unknown. He arrived a month later. They were Lutheran and family buried in some cemetery of such in NY. They lived in Brooklyn .. I even have the address and found a picture of the street on! Ludwig was a baker and died in 1891 of TB. Only two of their children survived past age 20 .. Martha and Louis. Martha had no children.
