William Riley Dockery did not die in South Carolina. He died in North Carolina. While staying with relatives, many who lived in Gastonia. I have a photo of William Riley Dockery and his wife, Betty Bunton. You must refer to my book THE HISTORY ND FOLKS OF ENGLISH MOUNTAIN for a complete history on the family of William Riley. I descend from William Rufas Dockery and Mary Polly Bird in several ways. Perhaps we have met? My line is Sarah Dockery, sister of William Riley, Aso Catherine Dockery who is his sister as well. Catherine married William Bird. Sarah married George Ivey. Their children who were first cousins married. That is my line. I also have a book on th Bird line alone. Mary Poll is the daughter of JOhn Bird. I have all of John Bird's childre, John's siblings, as well in book entitled DESCENDENTS OF JACOB BIRD PIONEER OF ENGLISH MOUNTAIN. All these books are at the Sevier County genealogy library. Beulah Karr, English Mountain historian
