thanks for responding so fast....in our family is definetely johnston with a "t" for quite some time(laxton white johnston berry). none of us recognize Dockery as a family name, so are stumped as to how this land grant came to be in the family papers and oral history. don't know if our family lines cross or not? maybe they don't? in addition to above surnames are, Robards(straight line to wales...left wales in time to have a son born in VA. in 1658), Humes. good luck in your research.
