Grace C. Dockery Carpenter ~ New Madrid MO
Posted by: Debi Bentley (ID *****3005) Date: June 25, 2002 at 05:52:01

Hi again ! I seem to be digging up allot lately!

I have a marriage licence for a Grace C. Dockery and a B.W. Carpenter on 21 Aug 1876 in New Madrid MO.

I also found in New Hope Cemetery in Marston MO. on my last jaunt down there a double stone with 2 little girls one is
Rosalia Carpenter 27 Aug 1877 died 15 Oct 1877 dau of BW & GD Carpenter. The other was a King ?? no idea on the relation just to very young babies sharing a stone perhaps..

The stone in New Hope leads me to believe that Grace C. Dockery is the sister of my gg-grandma Mary Elizabeth Dockery Shepard and her brother James Marion Dockery both born in TN and moved to MO. James has children and is himself buried there! They have a sister from census work named Grace C. Dockery b 1860 TN, so she would fit the age.

They were all the children of John J. Dockery and Mahala (Mulvaney?) of Maury/ Hickman Co TN. John J is the son of Balaam and Abigail Dockery.

Anyone recognise the names?
Thanks
Debi
