Thanks for the information on Matthew Dockery. I also read your other postings on the Dockery and the Covington family. Seems like they all came about the same time to Anson, NC. George Webb and wife Margaret Adcock Webb sold all their land in Queen Anne's County, MD in September 1767 and shortly after that came to Anson, NC. You listed the date at 1769. Do you know if they had a wagon train, or any information as to how and when they travel to Anson from Queen Anne's Co, MD. George Webb was born Long Neck, Queen Anne's Co, MD in 1728 married and had several children before he came to NC. Rachel, his daughter, that married Matthew Dockery was born after they came to Anson Co, NC. I also saw some postings on some of this clan (Covington's) that also came from Richmond, NC to Carroll County, TN in early 1830's.
Rachel's nephew, another George Webb, also came to Carroll County in early 1800's. Do you know where Matthew and Rachel ended up? Thanks for the info!
