The father of my Johan G (Georg)Dockstader was Cornelius, second son of Georg who was the original immigrant. Cornelius married a Mohawk woman. There were a lot, I mean really a lot of Johans. They often named several sons in the family the same first name and they went by their middle names. For instance, Johan G had a brother named Johan J (Joseph). I read somewhere in Palatine history that this was a mideval custom, an attempt to confuse the grim reaper who would get confused when looking for that person because there were so many of them in the household. I know that there was a dockstader who married a sister or daughter of Joseph Brandt. Don't know the name for sure, but could probably find it somewhere in my research stuff.
