I am researching the Stevens line. Hopefully what I am about to relate will help with the confusion, or add to it. I will limit the info as to how it relates to your research. However, it isn't as simple as that. It appears that the two Stevens families - John of Stamford & the line I am searching had family connections, however slight. Sarah Jane Markle d/o Frederick Markle & Rebecca Pickard m 1st William Staats only s/o Sylvester Staats & Fanny Stevens d/o John Stevens of Stamford m 2nd Nicholas Stevens s/o Aaron Stevens (of Schenectady) & Maria Crysler I am most interested in any discussion or proof that would link John Stevens of Stamford to Schenectady.
