Hello James,

I, too, am from the Dochstaer line. If you get the Dockstader books br Doris Dockstader, my family is listed in the third volume under the stray section. That was because she could not connect us with the Dockstader's that came from Germany to the Palatines, in New York, and then during a war/revolution, many came to Canada. My family seemed to come from the Niagar region and settled in Haldimand County.

There is also another Dochstader line in the stray section that she could not make a connection to my line, yet the other family had mememto cards of death announcments of my family line with theirs. So it seems like there would be a connection.

I would like to be able to make these connections and to finally make the connection with the original Dockstaders.

So essentially I would be interested in finding out what you may have learned and sharing my information with you as well. And perhaps if there is enough of us working on it, we may make that connection.

My e-mail address is

Andrea Dochstader
Hamilton, Ontario
