My GGrandfather was John Jurgen Dockweiler born in Clinton, Iowa in 1868. He married Carolena Jensen in Denison in 1893. They moved to Moville, Iowa where they farmed and raised six children to adulthood. Five girls and one son who had one daughter, so the Dockweiler name has disappeared in the Moville area where many of descendants of John and Carolina still live. These descendants became EPLINGS, SOLBERGS, ST.PETERS, CAMPBELLS and McCUNEs.

Johns father was Hans Dockweiler, born June 11, 1838 in Friedrichsanbau bei Schleswig, Schleswig-Holstein now a part of Germany. Hans was german speaking but his country of origin was listed as Denmark in the 1870 census of Center Twp. Clinton County, Iowa.

Hans married Marie Tolck (Tolk) in 1865. She was born in Kropp,Schleswig-Holstein in 1845. They came to America in 1866 and raised eight children to adulthood.
John Jurgen, Hans Friedrich Whilhelm (Willie),Nicklene Whilhelmine, Emma Alvine, Marie Amanda, Alvienne Emile,Mathilde, and Frank.
