Yes, I have the same question. John Dodds was born in Ireland in 1778, arrived in Pa in 1800, moved to Butler in 1808. He served in the War of 1812. However, I am still searching for the breakthrough that gets me to his parents.

One thing I'm fairly sure of is that another Butler County Dodds, the fairly notorious Thomas "Seaborn" Dodds, was not a direct relative. I have considered the possibility he may have been an uncle or cousin of John but still work to confirm any connection at all.
