We are actively seeking Dodds surnamed males from Durham and Northumberland to join in the Dodd/Dodds Surname DNA Project.

If you have ties to any Dodds in that area, I would like to correspond with you offline.

Since many families came into this area during the Industrial Revolution, it's possible that there are several unrelated Dodds and Dodd families within a fifty or so mile radius of Gateshead.

We have reason to believe that many of the Dodds immigrants into the mining areas of the US in the late 1800's came from the mining towns of north England.

It would be a very interesting basis for a one name study.

Ask me questions about the DNA project.

Anne Crocker
Durham, North Carolina
