Dodds Family Genealogy Forum
There is an Andrew Dodds, d 4/3/1887,78Y, buried in Oxbow, Town of Antwerp, Jefferson Co., NY. There were many more Andrews in the area, mainly Rossie and Gouverneur, St. Lawrence Co., NY. If you can access <rootsweb.com> go to Roots Web Free pages, click on A, click on Anne Cady's site, scroll down to her cemetery listings. She has done most of St. Lawrence County Cemeteries. You will find Gouverneur. We know some, at least of these Andrews are connected to us but, so far, don't know which one most closely. A Thomas,John and Andrew came to the area about 1816-1819 and established what was called Scotch Settlement, I believe in the Town of Rossie. They came from Roxborough according to local history. Only tie-in to Northumberland, so far, is that Michael, son of a John, was christened there.
John (I have a list of about 30, and Alexander are common names in the family.
