Was Jeremiah Dodge, of Cow Neck, Long Island, New York - died 1780 - a Loyalist?
I would like to know what other Dodge researchers think in regard to Jeremiah Dodge of Cow Neck, Long Island, being a Loyalist.
Was he a Loyalist?Jeremiah remained in New York after the British had taken over. His will was probated in the colony of New York in 1780 and was in the possession of Samuel Bayard Jr. (Loyalist), Secretary of the Colony of New York, on 21 Nov 1783 when Mr. Bayard turned over all the public records he had to the new Secretary of the State of New York.
