Yes, indeed I do believe we are related. ALthough I do not know too much about this couple - I believe your James Dodgson's parents are Joseph Dodgson and Elizabeth Brown.
Joseph Dodgson was born July 29, 1828 in Greene County, IL and he married Elizabeth Brown on November 7, 1854 in Scott Co.,IL. I think your James was born in Scott Co.,IL.
I do not know the names of any other children at this time, but will be checking my notes to see if I have anything.
This would make your James Dodgson the nephew of my John W. Dodgson and the cousin to Mary Dodgson Westnedge.
I have quite a bit of information on Joseph Dodgson's siblings, parents, uncles, and grandparents - I can send to you if you would like.
I am very curious about Mary Dodgson Westnedge's obituary - I do not have her death date or any names of her descendents. Is any of this information included in her obituary?
