We are looking to make new family connections. We welcome any news about our relatives, particularly those genealogical “tid-bits” of information, which lead to hidden family treasures, such as the Western Land Grants described here below; a spectacular period of time in Canadian history.

Head: Edward Dodman, b. May 17, 1859, likely Ontario, Canada. d. likely Lucky Lake area, Saskatchewan. Resided in Camden Township, Kent County, Ontario, Canada, then, 41 years of age, farmer and living in Hay District, South Huron County, Ontario, Canada. Likely farmer in Usborne Township, South Huron County, Ontario Canada too. Edward and his family left for Saskatchewan with Western Land Grants in 1910 or so. Edward’s Saskatchewan legal land descriptions were: NE-33-5-2-W5 & SE-32-23-10-W3.

Wife: Elizabeth Loucks, b. unknown d. unknown

Second wife: Elizabeth Conethe (not sure of Conethe spelling) b. December 23, 1858, Ontario, Canada

Children:

Mary Eleanor, b. July 02, 1887 Camden Township, Kent County, Ontario, Canada. d. likely 1960-70’s in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. 13 years of age and living in Hay District, South Huron County, Ontario, Canada. Likely lived in Usborne Township, South Huron County, Ontario, Canada too. Marriage: January 29, 1908, Huron County at St. Joseph. Mary married a Joseph (Henry, Harry) Couch of Hamlet of Cromarty, Hibbert Township, West Perth County, Ontario, Canada and then left for Lucky Lake area, Saskatchewan with Western Land Grants in 1909. Mary was 20 years of age and Harry was 22 years of age at time of marriage. They had three children, Cyril Odin, b. October 23, 1910, Saskatchewan, Leona, b. March 09, 1923 and Grace before returning to live in Ontario again in 1927 or so.

Seth E., b. April 12, 1886, Camden Township, Kent County, Ontario, Canada. 14 years of age and living in Hay District, South Huron County, Ontario, Canada. Likely lived in Usborne Township, South Huron County, Ontario, Canada too. Seth also moved to Saskatchewan with Western Land Grants. His legal land descriptions were: NW-15-24-9-W3. Seth is also listed as Saskatchewan Postmaster for Kindersley Post Office location Section: 19-23-10-W3 between 1915-1919.

Radwell B., b. June 14, 1889, Camden Township, Kent County, Ontario, Canada. 10 years of age and living in Hay District, South Huron County, Ontario, Canada. Likely lived in Usborne Township, South Huron County, Ontario, Canada too.

Thomas B., b. April 10, 1891 Camden Township, Kent County, Ontario, Canada. 9 years of age and living in Hay District, South Huron County, Ontario, Canada. Likely lived in Usborne Township, South Huron County, Ontario, Canada too. Thomas also moved to Saskatchewan with Western Land Grants. His legal land descriptions were: SE-19-23-10-W3 & SW-20-23-10-W3.

Morley B., b. August 08, 1894. 6 years of age and living in Hay District, South Huron County, Ontario, Canada. Likely lived in Usborne Township, South Huron County, Ontario, Canada too. Morely also moved to Saskatchewan with Western Land Grants. His legal land descriptions were: NW-20-23-10-W3

Possibly other Dodman siblings too.
