Ive been researching my Lovegrove /dodwell connection for sometime now.. ive been told there is NO connection at all but when my Grandmother ANNIE LOVEGROVE married in 1931 in Halifax Nova Scotia she list herself as a LOVEGROVE having been born in birmingham england 1898 to FREDRICK LOVEGROVE and MARY DODWELL... \
When she sister AMY LOVEGROVE who also lived in Halifax Nova scotia married in 1925 she to list her self as AMY LOVEGROVE born in birmingham england 1901 to FREDRICK LOVEGROVE and MARY DODWELL they both had a brother ALFRED..
My problem is ive found all 3 children list in the 1901 census not under lovegrove but DODWELL it list them as FREDRICK DODWELL< MARY DODWELL <ANNIE DODWELL<AMY DODWELL<ALFRED DODWELL, so why would two girls make such an error on their last name??surely they both knew their fathers last name. were both girls DODWELLS or LOVEGROVE
any help would be great
