Do you know where the Doering's you mentined lived in Wisconsin.

My Grandfather William Doering homesteaded a large area located between Merrill & Antigo, Wisconsin back in the late 1800. William & Theresa Doering had 10 children who grew up and raised families in this same area. The only Mathilde Doering I know was married to my uncle, Frank Doering. This family had 11 children.

Do you have any more clues or names?

Harry Doering
