My submission to the Doerr grenealogy forum of March 7, 1999, gives most of the information that I know regarding my Doerr family. CATHERINE DOERR was my Gr-Gr Grandmother, and came form the Alsace Lorraine area of France/Germany. Although born in France, she was apparently living in New Orleans when she met her future spouse, possibly marrying in N.O. It is a very interesting family, but my research has been fruitless. CATHERINE'S DOERR'S husband JOHN CLEMENS had at one time been very wealthy, the largest property tax payer in St. Louis, but died impoverished. I was so surprised to find their graves last summer unmarked by any stone.
