Do you know if these people were part of the Dunn and Doggett families that were in VA in the late-1600s and 1700s? A William Dunn of Essex Co., VA married a Winifred Waters, and one of their sons was named Waters Dunn (the first of several later male Dunns in that family with that given name). A Winifred Dunn was a daughter of William and Winifred (Waters) Dunn, and that Winifred Dunn married a Mr. Jones (and some say that his name was Ambrose Jones).
The Doggett family was in nearby Caroline Co., VA, and a Lucy Doggett from that family married a John Brown (and that couple lived in Culpeper Co., VA). We have a male Brown DNA donor who is out of that John and Lucy (Doggett) Brown, but his DNA was/is not a match to any of the other Brown families in that part of VA for which we also have one or more male Brown DNA donors (as you might expect with such a common surname, there were MANY separate/unrelated Brown families in VA in the 1700s).
