I am interested in information about James Doidge who was in Jamaica from 1895 to 1901. He was an expert on bee keeping, gave lectures and ran a company providing beekeeping supplies. He was said to have been in Mysore, India, as a coffee planter for 18 years before that. He reportedly married in 1900/1 but I have no details. He went to the USA in 1901 on business and apparently vanished. I have so far found no later references to him; there are references to a Mrs Elgiva Doidge, but it is not clear that this was his wife.
