My mother in law was named Lilla Durant. We, too, hit a dead end with her grandfather, Octave Durant. We knew that the great grandfather was Simeon but no more than that. These people were from Prince Edward Island. To make a long story short, when Octave moved from French speaking Rustico to English speaking Summerside he became Octave Durant rather than Octave Doiron. His son (my wife's grandfather) was born Jean Doiron but became John Durant. You're on the right track. Good luck. Dennis Breton
