This is the same time period that my ggrandfather and his family left MI and came to Arkansas. I have been told that a few of his brothers and family also came and that one went back to MI. I believe that the brother that went back was Emory. The unusual last name, the fact that my Ggrandfather was born in NY, and the fact that my grandfather was born in Cass Co., MI, and the fact that my father was born in Arkansas started me in genealogy. According to the 1850 NY census the first one I can find of this line was named Stephen and his wife was Elizabeth. This would be my gggrandfather. Maybe others will join us here and we can find more Dokkeys.
