Hi Carolyn,

Jean Christian Meyer, son of André and Catherine Élizabeth ...), d'Allemagne (Germany)was first married with Geneviève Aubuchon(Jean, Marie-Angélique Babin) in Berthier on October 6th 1783. He was freshly released (and had chosen not to return). I have tumbled on him while looking at another Hessian named Nicolas Mayer. I have Jean Christian Meyer's whole family (somewhere in my papers). I had the project to send this to John Merz's mailing list(great one). And to Francis Watters who is projecting a book on first generations of "Hessians" descendants in Quebec. Francis would be happy knowing your husband.
For my Dolbecs, well, I'm descendant of François Dolbec, from Caen, Normandy. (Dolbec is a very norman surname: viking origin); there are yet Dolbecs there. One of François's son went to Repentigny; I don't know why, but there was confusion there with another family called Dalpé/Parizeau.

Yours,

Yvonne Dolbec

P.S.: I have too "Hessians" (Brunswickers) ancestors in my maternal line.
