According to our family lore and Bible we descended from Richard Dollins (D 1774).Richard's children were: Ann, Presley, John and William. Richard Dollins' son John (1740-1787) also married an Elizabeth (1740-1821).
They had a son Jeremiah (1783-1856) who married Ritter Merritt (1801-1853), there seem to be several spellings for her name.
One of their children was a daughter Sarah Jane Dollins (d.1833). Sarah (also several spellings but nicknamed Sallie) had 3 husbands: Andrew Black, William R. Baber and John T. Martin (d1931). Sallie and John Martin had one son Guy Ulous Martin (1872-1923). Guy had 2 wives: Mattie E. Dudley (B 1873)(they had 4 daughters); Nora D. Goad(1889-1971) who gave him 3 sons and 1 daughter: John Thomas "Jack" 1918-1986, Edith Marie 1919-1985, Meritt Peyton "Duke" 1922-1976, Herbert Ulous born after his Father's death in 1923. I am one of Meritt's children. The dates have come from the Family Bible which I am now trying to confirm. The family lived in Albemarle County in an area called Batesville; Nora and her children moved into Charlottesville, VA.

I do have some other names and dates of siblings for several generations but this was getting lengthy. I would appreciate any assistance if this fits in with your family records.
