I'm researching Davis family of IN who came from the Guilford/Forsyth/Davidson Co NC area (Abbott's Creek)to Jackson/Brown/Bartholomew/Monroe Co area of southern IN. There were Davis relatives who lived in Jennings and Jefferson Co IN as well, but I'm having a devil of a time making the connection! I came to be searching Dollins as a result of info about Francis Davis m Mildred Dollins, lived in Jefferson Co IN. My earliest info has William Davis bc 1750 in Va married to Mary Unknown (maybe Dollins?) and I descend from their son William b 1778 in Va or NC. This earlist William is believed to be listed on the 1780 or 1790 Stokes Co NC census (don't have the info in front of me right now). My greatgrandfather's obit says he died in Daviess Co IN (town of Elnora) "whie visiting friends". I don't know who he knew in Daviess Co, perhaps Dollins? Any info on William Davis and Mary Dollins would be appreciated.
