Hi Scott,

I am a direct descendant of the Albemarle County, Virginia Dollins/ Dollens family. My great great grandfather John Mallory Dollens was born circa 1824 in Virginia. I believe he is the son of Richard Dollins and Margaret Alexander Dollens. I believe Richard is the son of John Dollins and Elizabeth Mallory. Richard was in the War of 1812 and lived with his mother Elizabeth in Albemarle County, VA in 1800. I believe that he had a son named William T. Dollens who eventually removed to Waldron, Arkansas. William T. Dollens married his cousin Mary Ann Dollens/ Dollins daughter of William and Phebe (Dollins) Dollens. Their marriage took place in Albemarle County, Missouri as did Richard Dollens and Margaret Alexander's. William and Phebe removed early to Garrard County (pronounced Garrett), Kentucky near the towns of Paint Lick and Crab Orchard. They removed from there to Callaway County, Missouri and later were some of the first purchasers of land in Wilson Township, Audrain County, Missouri in the 1830s.

Phebe has a probate case in Audrain County, Missouri (Oct. 1844) which lists the following heirs:
Willaim Dollins
James Dollins
Jeremiah Dollins' heirs
John P. Dollins
Mary Ann Dollins--wife of William T. Dollens
Nancy Riggs--wife of Samuel Riggs--executor of the estate.

Other Dollins/ Dollens who settled in Audrain County are mine including:
Richard Dollins and Margaret Alexander Dollens
(they too were in Garrard County, KY prior to coming to Missouri)
John Mallory Dollins--presumed son of Richard and Margaret Dollens. John married a local girl Malinda Jane Stewart and they were the parents of eight children. Many Dollens descendants still live in the 2 mile radious where the Dollins family first settled.
Sarah A. G. Dollens --presumed daughter of Richard and Margaret Dollens. She married David SPENCER. Their where abouts later on is unknown.
Mary Dollens--married Jeremiah Sheppard/ Sheppard in 1847 in Audrain County--announcement in Missouri Statesman says she is the daughter of Richard M. Dollins.

I would love to correspond with other Dollins descendants. I have been collecting data for over 25 years.

Timothy D. Dollens
Columbia, Missouri
