I believe your Martin Dolphin was my great great grandfather’s (James) brother. He also died (after the Civil War) from wounds he received during the war – another brother was also involved in the Civil War. The whole family emigrated to the States in the 1840s – and settled in Cascade, IA – James went back to Ireland for awhile, but returned worked in NY State for awhile and eventually joined the family in IA.
A cousin of mine (now deceased) – Harry Dolphin from Omaha, NB, did a complete family history. I would be glad to send you a copy for a minimal charge, since it takes up around 500 pgs.
