Daniel DOLPHIN, London

I am looking for the birthplace, parentage and any other information you might have of Daniel DOLPHIN born around 1802, London Middlesex, and his wife Mary GRAY born around 1811, London, Middlesex. They were married 6 SEP 1829 St. Georges, Bloomsbury. One of the witnesses was John DOLPHIN, probably a close relative, maybe father or brother.

At the time of marriage Daniel was a Mariner, Merchant Service Mate. Later listed as Shoemaker, Musician, Gent., Ironmonger, and Trinity House Pensioner. But can't find him in the Trinity House Lists. In later life he was blind, probably cataracts.

Daniel and Mary had ten children Daniel Edwin, David Henry, Charles Edward, George, Mary Anne, Emma Louisa, Frederick Henry, James Alfred, Emma Amelia and David Samuel.

Daniel died 9 MAY 1873 Emsworth, Hampshire. Mary died 24 DEC 1867 Westbourne, Sussex.

We have pretty good knowledge of Daniel and Mary's descendants, but know nothing of their ancestors. Any help would be much appreciated.

Robert Rees
