Jane,

I may have previously responded to your Dolphin posting; if so please disregard (I recently had a major computer crash and lost some of my records.)

I have no information on James Dolphin but I am looking for a Michael Dolphin who apparently lived in Bullaun, County Galway, in 1841. Michael Dolphin and Mary Fahy were the sponsors for the marriage of my ggrandparents (Thomas FAHY and Catherine MARTIN) on February 7, 1841, at the parish of Carrabane/Bullaun. There is a still a small Catholic Church in Bullaun and it is noted that the Dolphin family must have been prominent members of the church as a cornerstone is dedicated to them. See this information on:

In researching my FAHY family, I also came across the birth of a daughter, Julia, 29 March 1865, Loughrea, Galway (about 15 miles from Bullaun) to John Fahy and Mary Silk.

Unfortunately, very few records exist prior to 1863. Just in case the above might be useful, thought it worth sending.

Pat
