IS THE SURNAME "DOLPH" A FORM / DOLPHIN

I RECENTLY FOUND OUT THAT MY GRANDMOTHERS MAIDEN NAME WAS ESTHER OPAL DOLPH. IS THIS A FORM OF DOLPHIN? I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY INFORMATION ANYONE COULD GIVE ME. I AM ESPECIALLY INTERESTED IN FINDING THE ETHNIC BACKGROUND OF MY FAMILY AS I HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF THAT SIDE OF MY FAMILY TREE. ALL THAT I CAN REMEMBER ABOUT MY GRANDMOTHER WAS HER BLUE/GREEN EYES AND HER LONG RED HAIR. I WAS THINKING MAYBE IRISH OR SCOTTISH? ANYWAY I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO FINDING OUT. SANDY.
